Candle & Wax Melt Care
At Teog Co, we believe fragrance should bring warmth, comfort and a little everyday luxury into your home. Our coconut-wax candles and wax melts are hand-poured in small batches. Please follow these simple precautions and always read the safety information supplied with your product.
Caring for your candles
- Trim wicks to approximately 5mm before each burn and remove any wick trimmings or debris from the wax.
- Place candles upright on a stable, heat-resistant surface, at least 10cm apart and away from draughts, curtains and anything flammable.
- Keep candles away from children and pets. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- For multi-wick candles, light all the wicks together. Never move a lit candle or touch hot glass or liquid wax.
- Follow the burn-time limit on your candle label; never burn for longer than four hours at a time.
- Extinguish if the flame becomes unusually large, flickers excessively or smokes heavily. Never extinguish with water.
- Check that all flames are out and let the glass cool fully before handling or relighting.
- Stop using the candle when approximately 1cm of wax remains, or sooner if instructed on the product label. Do not use cracked or damaged glass.
- Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
Caring for your wax melts
- Use only a suitable wax melt burner or electric warmer, following its manufacturer's instructions.
- Place the burner on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials, children and pets.
- Use a suitable quantity of wax without overfilling the dish. Never add water or extra fragrance oil.
- For tealight burners, use only the tealight size and type specified by the burner manufacturer; never use an oversized tealight. We always say 4-hour tealights max.
- Never leave a lit or switched-on burner unattended. Do not move it while the wax is hot.
- Follow the burner's recommended operating time and do not heat melts for longer than four hours at a time.
- Extinguish the tealight or switch off and unplug the warmer after use. Let the burner and wax cool fully before cleaning or changing the wax.
- Never pour wax down sinks or drains. Dispose of cooled wax responsibly.
Children, pets and fragrance
